Barbara Ann Baker, born on July 7, 1955, in Jackson, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on May 5, 2025, at her home in Jackson. She was a beloved figure whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Throughout the years, Barbara dedicated herself primarily to being a housewife, exemplifying love and commitment to her husband. She did not shy away from taking on various jobs to support her loved ones, including serving as a school bus driver, a secretary, and waitressing. Each role she undertook showcased her adaptability and willingness to care for others.

Barbara's personality radiated with love, especially for her family. The core of her heart belonged to her late husband, Charley Baker, whose absence she felt profoundly until her final days. The love they shared was a foundation of strength and joy in her life, one that she carried with her even after his passing.

Barbara had a great affection for animals, which was fondly recalled by her siblings, who remembered her love for dogs and remarked with endearing laughter, "No, she loved ALL animals." This sentiment encapsulates her generous spirit and her ability to bring lightness to those around her.

In addition to her domesticated passions, Barbara enjoyed collecting coins, an interest that likely reflected her appreciation for history and detail. She also found solace and joy in photography, capturing moments that would become treasured memories for her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Robert Askew, Elizabeth Barton (Joe), and Richard C. Askew (Tracey); nieces, Lennie Cox (Steven) and Jennie Barton; nephews, Paul McCaghren (Carrie) and Matthew McCaghren; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Baker; and her parents, Richard L. Askew and Rachel Virginia King Askew.

As we remember Barbara Ann Baker, we celebrate a life marked by love for family, cherished memories, and a gentle spirit that touched many lives. Her legacy will continue through the stories shared by those she loved and the impact she made in her community. She is now reunited with her beloved Charley, and their enduring love story lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
