Barbara Faye Gaffney Barger was born in New Orleans, Louisiana at Charity Hospital on September 17, 1960 to Sidney Leo Gaffney Sr. and Rosemary Louise Favalora Gaffney. Barbara went to be with the Lord on December 28th, 2025.
Barbara Barger was a woman of extraordinary strength, deep compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the very definition of a mother’s love—fierce, protective, and endlessly giving. A true “mama bear,” Barbara stood strong for those she loved, always placing their needs before her own. She lived a life marked by sacrifice and hard work. Dependable in every sense of the word, Barbara was someone others could always count on. Whether through quiet acts of service or bold acts of love, she gave freely of herself, never seeking recognition, only the comfort and well-being of those around her.
Barbara’s caring heart and resilient spirit shaped her family in ways that will be felt for generations. She taught strength by example, love through action, and perseverance through every challenge she faced. Her presence was steady, her support unshakable, and her love unconditional. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, Barbara Barger’s legacy lives on in the lives she nurtured, the values she instilled, and the love she gave so selflessly. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a remarkable woman whose strength and heart knew no bounds.
