Barbara Blaney

Blaney - Barbara Maynard, was born in Port Washington, NY on August 16, 1929. She graduated from Schreiber HS in 1947 and went to work as an operator for NY Telephone Company. She met her husband Thomas F. Blaney while he was driving the bus route from Port Washington to Mineola for Skank Transportation and she was a passenger. They married in 1948 and raised 8 children in Levittown. Barbara enjoyed bingo, garage sales and thrift shops, socializing with friends, family and neighbors, the annual July 4th block party, hosting Christmas Eve at her home for all her relatives and friends, her cats, Atlantic City, and trips to visit her sons and their families in Florida and North Carolina and to visit her dear friend and former neighbor Peggy Feuerlein in Covington, KY. Barbara was a polite and diplomatic person who had no enemies. She is survived by her sons John Blaney and his wife Linda of Bethpage, NY; Charles Blaney and his wife Mary of Milton, FL; Thomas Blaney and his wife Kathy of Florida; Frank Blaney and his wife Mary of East Meadow, NY; Dennis Blaney; and Robert Blaney and his wife Angela of Statesville, NC; and her daughter Esther Kuhner of Levittown and longtime companion John Lima and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas, and their son Patrick. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services were private and done by the United Methodist Church in Hicksville, NY. Interment was at Pinelawn Military Cemetery in Melville, NY.
