Barbara Bodenstein Obituary

Obituary of Barbara Ursula Bodenstein
Barbara Ursula Cook Bodenstein was born April 21, 1936 in Springfield, Missouri to Walter Sherman and Hazel Ursula Cook. She grew up mostly in Grove Oklahoma, where she met her husband, Rondal Lee Bodenstein. They married May 2, 1954.
They lived in Tulsa, until moving to their homeplace in Kiefer in 1967. They had three children, David Lee, Claire Elizabeth, and Timothy Paul.
Barbara loved the beach and all things ocean, collecting lighthouses, and eating crab. She loved to travel and regularly visited Branson, Missouri with her husband. Their favorite show to take in was Daniel O'Donnell. Their travel included anywhere they could get in a car, because she was terrified to fly. They drove to Washington so they could cruise to Alaska.
Barbara was very creative. She crocheted. She was a genius in the kitchen. She catered with her son, Tim. She and her sister, Sis, did ceramics together. She opened a craft shop (her siblings contributed their creations). She decorated cakes (and was even tricked into making her own birthday cake for a surprise party). She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron and was even appointed as a Grand Representative.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hazel Cook; her brother, Walter Cook; sisters, Gwendolyn Fondren and Jo Ann Reeves; and her daughter Beth Exendine. She is survived by her husband Rondal; her sons, David and Tim (and their families); her grandchildren, Sarah Jane, Christopher, BJ, and Johnathan; and her great grandchildren, and many other loved ones.
