Barbara Jean Brown was born on February 19th, 1945 to Evelyn May Coleman and
Charlie Wesley Coleman in Arlington, Virginia & was called home to Heaven on February 12, 2026 in Cartersville, Virginia.
She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Marie Lynch & Harriet Edna (Bunny) Callahan, as
well as her children Evelyn Jean Daves, Edward Ernest Ward and Wende Fae Brown. She was
also deeply loved by all her grandchildren Amelia, Emma, Wyatt, Carrie, Becca, Adeline,
Michelle, Tammy, Michael, Caleb and her many beloved great-grandchildren who fondly titled
her “Granny”.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers Charlie Edward Coleman and
George Wesley Coleman, her step daughter Kathleen Brown, her grandson Jesse Daves,
great-grandson Levi Daves, and very importantly, the love of her life Jacob Algon Brown.
Barbara was a conscientious employee in the health care industry, arriving early to work
before the computers slowed down, and always striving for excellence in all she did. For much
of her adult life, she sacrificed greatly to raise her children as a single mother and was selfless
in all actions and areas of her life.
Though she lived a quiet and humble life, she has left a remarkable imprint on all the
lives and hearts that she touched. Her legacy shines onward through the extensive family she
has left behind who love her so deeply.
