Doris Ann Evans age 58 of Farmville, VA passed away on January 22, 2026. She was born in Virginia to the late Nathaniel and Doris Bradley Whitlow Jr. on September 5, 1967. She worked for the Department of corrections and later The Woodland. She loved her family and all lost animals who came her way.
She is survived by her husband Alfred A. Evans Jr, two sons; Robert Curtis Anderson III, James Matthew Anderson, two step children; Alfred A. Evans III, Tiffany Evans, a sister Catherine East Andrews (Marc), brothers; Donald L. Whitlow (Jackie), Thomas E. Whitlow (Stephanie), brother in law James Whitley, several nieces and nephews; Michelle, Rachel, Peter, Alice, Peyton, Nicholas, Jackson and one great niece Everly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel Whitlow III (Margaret), Doris M. Jeter (Rudolph), brother Nathaniel E. Whitlow III (Pete), sister Virginia G. Whitley. Doris was well loved by her family and friends. Shorter Funeral Home is serving the family. www.shorterfuneralhome.com.
