Barbara Brunner Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Barbara Lee Brunner, Age 89, born October 7th, 1935, in Royal Oak, MI passed away on April 6th, 2025, in Troy, MI. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara, loving daughter of Nannie Mae Dill and Clarence Christopher Dill. Barbara worked at Control Data in Rochester, MI, for over 20 years, and repaired jewelry at Aragona Jewelers in Sterling Heights, MI, for many years. Barbara found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with many, many family barbecues and holiday celebrations. She loved playing the slot machines, bingo, and scratch-off lottery tickets. She loved garage sales, holiday baking, crossword puzzles, and coffee (Starbucks "real coffee"). A very giving person, Barbara was willing to help anyone in need. She was reserved but humorous. Barbara is survived by her brother Denis David Dill (Marietta), her children Robert Gottlieb Brunner Jr, Barbara Mae Brunner and Lucy May Greer, her grandchildren David Stanley Cutway Jr, Nicole Marie Cutway (Brent), Christopher Michael Cutway (Kristie), Rj Ernst (Robin) and Jd Brunner (Jennette), her great-grandchildren Ashlyn Paige Cutway, Reese Nicole Cutway, Kenzie Elizabeth Welch (Patrick), Loretta Ann Brunner and Aurora Lynn Brunner, great-great grandson Kason Michael Welch, nephew Denis Dill Jr (Carrie). Preceded in death are Barbara's parents Nannie Mae Dill and Clarence Christopher Dill. Husband Robert Gottlieb Brunner Sr., a WWII veteran and Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame Inductee who adored his beautiful wife and wrote her a love note every time he left the house, and her son-in-law Lindell L. Greer, niece Denise Marie Dill and cousin Nancy Dill. Barbara will be remembered for her love of family, her sarcastic humor, her love of cookies, cheesecake and crab legs, and her love for "her" cars, rock 'n' roll (Bob Seger) and casino trips. Most of all she will be remembered for her big heart! Celebration of Life even will be held at later date. Barbara will be laid to rest with her Husband at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
