Barbara Brunson

Barbara Ann Woods Brunson, age 81, peacefully passed away on December 31, 2025. She was born on September 22, 1944, in Rosedale, Mississippi, to Tommie Alexander Woods and Willie Vivian Farmer Woods.

Barbara was the cherished wife of William H. Brunson, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Their life together was marked by love, dedication, and a strong commitment to family values. Barbara was a devoted mother to her children, Sheila Brunson Steinwinder (Joe) of Enterprise, AL, Penny Brunson of Hernando, MS, and Alex Brunson (Jennifer) of Grenada, MS, all of whom survive her. She was the youngest daughter of ten children. Barbara is survived by one sibling, Bobby Woods.

Barbara was a proud and loving grandmother and great-grandmother, roles that brought her immense joy and fulfillment. She is survived by her grandchildren, Sarah Beth Hile (Kevin), Mary Katherine Akins (Trey), Carter Steinwinder (Jessica), Emily Christian (Colby), Rebecca Norris (Dustin), Kimberly Fisher (Shayne), Catherine Beck(Dustin), Hallie Brunson, and Hayden Brunson, as well as her twelve great-grandchildren. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident in every aspect of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Barbara was a faithful member of the Grenada Church of God and a former long-term member of the Greenwood Church of God, where she formed lasting friendships and faithfully served the Lord for many years.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Grenada Church of God, prior to the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
