Barbara Burbank Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McDonough Funeral Home on Dec. 30, 2023.
In Loving Memory of Barbara Ann (Burke) Burbank
Barbara Ann Burbank, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Born on February 12, 1937, in Amesbury, MA, Barbara's journey through life was marked by love, family, and providing those around her with care and compassion.
Barbara spent a portion of her youth in Fort Worth, Texas, where she began to embrace the values of family and community that would define her life. She would often share stories of the rodeos, stockyards, and how she babysat for the children of a colonel in the military. A devoted and family-oriented soul, Barbara cherished the moments spent with her loved ones. She found immense joy in the company of her family and took great pleasure in creating lasting memories together. While she wasn't the first to plan travel, it was evident she loved seeking a bit of adventure in new journeys. Whether it was a day trip to enjoy a new restaurant in the region, a long weekend in Maine, or vacationing in Florida, she found joy in any trip that brought her family together.
Barbara's heart belonged to Robert P. Burbank and together they shared a marriage that spanned nearly five decades. Her beloved husband, Robert, preceded her in death in 2011, leaving behind a legacy of enduring love and commitment.
Barbara is survived by her two sons, Robert F. Burbank of Worcester, and Richard Burbank and his wife, Lori, of Lowell. Her family was a source of immense pride, and she found solace and joy in the accomplishments and happiness of her children.
She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of her grandchildren, Christoper Lysy, Jason Amerault and his wife, Tina, and their son Oliver, who brought great joy and laughter in her final year.
Barbara was also the loving mother of the late Carol Ann Lysy and the late Cynthia Burbank.
In accordance with her wishes, all services will take place privately.
