Nancy Downs

Nancy Downs, 75 of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 after a brief period of declining health at Lowell General Hospital.

She was born on February 11, 1950 and was a daughter of the late Patrick J. Driscoll and Helen S. (Kiluk) Driscoll. She was a lifelong Lowell resident, growing up in the Centerville neighborhood and attending the area schools, graduating From Lowell High School, where she made many longtime friends. She then moved to the Belvidere neighborhood to raise her family. She worked for the Registry of Deeds for over 20 years as a title examiner.

Nancy had a deep love for decorating, art, and music, especially singing, which brought her great joy. Above all else, her children were her greatest pride and happiness. She devoted her life to them and loved them more than words could ever express.

Surviving her are her two children, Jason G. Downs of Nashua and Raegan E. Downs of Lowell; her granddaughter, Avery Alexander Downs of Lowell; and her sister, Marsha J. McGee and her husband, G. Stephen McGee of Lowell. She also leaves several cousins with whom she was very close, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter the late Shaelagh Colleen "Shae" Downs; and her former husband, the late Kevin M. Downs.
