Barbara Alice Phillips Cahoon, 82, of Kinston, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born to the late, Clarence “Jack” Phillips Sr. and Vera Pearl Potter. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and gentle spirit touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her husband of eight years, Perry Roger Cahoon; her daughter, Alisa Ann McCarthy; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her sons, William David Barksdale, Terry Steven Barksdale, and Bryan Lynn Barksdale; brothers, Rev. Jack Phillips, Harvey Phillips, Charles Phillips, Cherry Phillips, and Douglas Clarence Phillips; and sisters, Marie Quasnick, Laverne Phillips, and Lana Shirley Norris.
Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the warmth she shared so freely with others.
