Barbara Spence Carroll

CARROLL, Barbara Spence, 85, passed away early November 15, 2010, following a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Richard W. Carroll. Surviving family members include her five children, Charles Carroll, Marsha Carroll, Dr. Steven Carroll and his wife, Carolyn, Dr. Jane Hilton, and Ann Hardin and her husband, Mike; 10 grandchildren, Nate Carroll, Chris Carroll, Mike TerAvest, Tim Carroll, Jessica TerAvest, Leigh Hilton, Craig Hilton, Nicole Carroll, Elizabeth Hardin and Andrew Hardin; two great-grandchildren, Ella Carroll and Jonas Hilton; as well as special sister-in-law, Ruth Carroll. Mrs. Carroll was active in Girl Scouting and continued to volunteer with that long after her daughters were grown. A skilled knitter, avid hiker and amateur painter, she was well loved by all of her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to express their gratitude to Rosewood Village for the special care given to Barbara. A memorial gathering will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Teague Funeral Home. Friends may sign the guest register at teaguefuneralhome.com.
