Barbara Rachel Chambers, 55, passed away at the Silver Stream Center, Spring House, PA, on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Born in Lansdale, she was a daughter of Edna (Lindley) Netherton, and the late Richard Netherton.
In addition to her mother, Edna, Barbara is survived by her daughters, Emily Speckhardt (Andrew), Rachel Gotwalt (Joshua), and Natalie Chambers; and her sister Sherry Henry. She is predeceased by her beloved brother Edward Netherton, and father Richard Netherton.
She enjoyed time with her family, shopping with her mother, and music. In her earlier years, she was passionate about singing, winning in several talent shows and serenading at weddings. In the mornings, she would often sing "Good Morning" from Singing in the Rain to wake her daughters up with a smile. Simply put, music coursed through her soul.
Christmas was her favorite time of year. She loved decorating, singing carols, family time, and the simple joy of the season. She could often be found watching Hallmark movies with her daughters and mother.
Barbara was a skilled beautician and enjoyed helping others look and feel their best. Her hair was her prized feature, always changing in color and style. After chemo, she lost her hair, but never her spirit. She was elated that it had started to grow back. She was looking forward to playing with the new color and texture that came through.
Alongside her work in cosmetology, she loved to care for others. She became a CNA and also worked with adults with disabilities. Even after sharing so much love with other people, she always had room in her heart for animals. She adopted and fostered many cats and dogs over the years. She was a wonderful mother to her daughters and pets, and her loving embrace will be greatly missed.
Services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in Barbara's name to METAvivor (www.metavivor.org) would be greatly appreciated. METAvivor is dedicated to the specific fight of women and men living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
