Barbara Allen Chamblee

Barbara Allen Chamblee, 82, formerly of Ward, Ark. went home to be with the Lord, peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was a devoted mother and Mamaw who loved spending time with her family. Her favorite pastimes were taking her son, Mark, to town to shop for bargains and taking care of her grandchildren. She was member of First Baptist Church of Ward, worked at Timex and later retired from Maybelline L'Oreal.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Doris Walker, her husband, Dewey Chamblee, brother, Dennis Walker, and sister, Janice Frazier. She is survived by her beloved son, Mark Chamblee, whom she cared for his entire life, daughter and caregiver, April Gammel and husband David, of Lonoke, daughter, Melinda Ryan and husband Charles of Sulfer Rock, and brother JL Walker of Ward. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Luke Gammel, Anna Gammel, Amanda Ryan, Cliff Ryan, and four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Arkansas Hospice Ottenheimer Inpatient Center where Barbara was wonderfully cared for in her final days. A private service will be held at a later date.
