Barbara "Bobbie" Ezell went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2025. She was born on April 3, 1935 in Le Sage, West Virginia. A resident of Okeechobee for 70 years, where she held a wide range of positions, from church secretary to many positions in the Okeechobee school system, to fitting room associate. She was a loving wife and mother that always put others before herself. She was a devoted mother of seven children and cherished grandmother of ten. A great grandmother of nine and a proud great-great grandmother of three. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness lives on in all of them.
She found her greatest joy in the simple beauty of life spending time outdoors, watching the birds and singing songs that lifted the spirit of everyone around her. Her sense of humor and playful nature made her well-liked by those that knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her songs, her laughter, and her gentle spirit will echo in our hearts forever.
Mrs. Ezell was predeceased by her husbands, H. H. Christopher and Lemoyne C. Ezell; parents, C.H. Barlow and Nancy Smith Barlow; brothers, Roscoe Barlow and Bill Barlow; and sisters, Janis Barlow Stowasser and Betty Barlow Settle.
Bobbie is survived by her sons, Stephen Christopher (Mary), of Okeechobee, Florida, Michael Christopher, of Gainesville, Florida, and Lemoyne J, Ezell, of Okeechobee, Florida; daughters, Nancy Sue Christopher (Paul), Darla Jo Rose (Bill), of Okeechobee, Florida, Janis Ann Machnik (Tom), of Gainesville, Florida and Kim Mucherino (Ed), Okeechobee, Florida; 10 grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Jesse, Braxton, Dante, Benjamin, Lemoyne, J. Jr., Anastasia, Alex, and Izaiah; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 3 p.m. until service at 4 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2025 at Buxton Okeechobee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
