Barbara Jane Ciaravino, 89, of Dubuque, died Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Hawkeye Care Center in Dubuque.
Barbara graciously donated her body to science to the University of Iowa.
Barbara was born on June 22, 1935, in Pollard, AR, the daughter of Ardy and Floy (Holcomb) Kilbreth. On January 17, 1957, she married John Paul Ciaravino in Detroit, MI. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2023.
Barbara graduated in 1953 from Northwestern High School in Detroit, MI. She worked in customer service for 45 years prior to her retirement.
Barbara enjoyed traveling especially once she retired. She was a skilled quilter and also loved to crochet. One of Barbara's biggest passions was for community theater, whether it be watching or assisting backstage with the set and costumes, for over 25 years.
Survivors include her four children, Joseph (Roseann) Ciaravino of Woodhaven, MI; Paul (Kristie) Ciaravino of Wyandotte, MI; Josephine "Josie" Rose of Dubuque; and Tricia (Richard) Rodriguez of Benbrook, TX; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Rose.
