Barbara Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martinez-Morse Funeral Home - Middletown on Dec. 31, 2025.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara J. Clark, age 88, of New Hampton, NY. Barbara passed away peacefully at home on December 27, 2025, after a short illness, with her daughter by her side.

Barbara was born in Middletown, New York, on November 10, 1937, to Ruth Manning Hughson and Gordon Hughson. She was married for 63 years to her loving husband, Fred Y. Clark Jr., who predeceased her.

Barbara will be remembered for her caring and loving nature, her strong work ethic, and her unwavering devotion to her children and grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Denton Presbyterian Church, where she treasured the many friendships, she formed within her church family. She was also a member of The Slate Hill Pacers. Above all, Barbara especially loved when her family was together and held a special place in her heart for each of her grandchildren, offering them unwavering love and support.

Barbara is lovingly remembered by her children, Fred Y. Clark III (Patti), Sandra Schupp (Carl), and David Clark. She was a cherished grandmother to Ryan Schupp (Meaghan), Erika Clark (Ben), Nicole Begany (Dylan), Ian Schupp, Alyssa Clark (fiancé Leo Van Buskirk), and Jaclyn Clark. Barbara was also blessed to become a great-grandmother to a beautiful baby boy, Cooper Begany, born on Christmas Day 2025.

Barbara is survived by her siblings, Geri Ryman, Dinah McBride, and Rick Hughson. Barbara was predeceased by her siblings Authur, Roy, Dennis, Donald, Larry and Darlene Hughson. The Clark and Schupp families would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Alex Fruchter for his compassionate care over many years, as well as to the wonderful home health aides and United Hospice for their kindness and support.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Denton Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 72, New Hampton, NY 10958, or United Hospice, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
