Barbara Ann Clevenger, 92, of Thomas, West Virginia, formerly of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Cortland Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Arnettsville, West Virginia on March 20, 1933, a daughter of the late William C. and Elizabeth Perkins Ammons.
On July 25, 1953, she married Richard Eugene Clevenger, who survives. Together, they shared and celebrated 73 years of marriage. Also surviving are two sons, David Clevenger (Beth) and Rick Clevenger; four grandchildren, Kimberly Clevenger Roberts (Skyler), Katie Clevenger Snider (Dustin), Jessica Clevenger Frey (William), and Raymond Thomas Clevenger-Koran; and eight great-grandchildren, Ashton Roberts, Chase Roberts, Silas Roberts, Huxton Snider, Damyien Clevenger, Darrion Frey, Brayden Frey and MaKenzie Frey.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Phillips.
Barbara graduated from University High School and received her beautician license in 1951. She was methodist by faith. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, and gardening. Barbara and Richard loved traveling and took several trips out west in their RV, visiting 43 states together. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored. Time spent with friends and family are what she cherished the most. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
Friends may call at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor John Neely officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens.
