Barbara Colvert Obituary
Barbara Jo Colvert, 80, longtime resident of Hooks, Texas, went home to be with her Lord on September 6, 2025. She was born on January 2, 1945, in DeKalb, Texas, to Scott and Thelma McGill.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Thelma Joyce Hancock, Linda Sue Parker, and Doris McGill.
She leaves behind a family who adored her: son, Stanton Moon; daughter, Christina, and husband Daryl Dunavant; sister, Sarah, and husband Billy Hooks; aunt, Betty Hall; five grandchildren, Justin Cannon, Zachary Fowler, Kourtney Moon, Allyson Dunavant, and Jessica Dunavant; seven great-grandchildren; and her lifelong best friend, Grace Anderson.
Family was Barbara's heart. She never missed a chance to cheer on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews in everything they did. Her presence was a constant source of love, encouragement, and pride. She was known for her warm smile, her kind heart, and her unwavering faith in God. To know Barbara was to know someone who loved deeply and praised her Lord joyfully.
Services will be held at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home in New Boston, Texas, Friday, September 12th, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
Barbara's love and faith touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
