P. Keith Colvert, age 96, U.S. Army veteran, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1963, formerly of Oak Park, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Endeavor Health Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born February 2, 1929, in Chicago Heights, IL.
Beloved husband of Rita M. Colvert (nee Hogan), whom he married June 21, 1958, devoted son of the late Leo and Bernice (nee Hammond) Colvert, loving brother of the late Joseph, Arlene, Mary and Johnny, brother-in-law of Benita, Patrick, Michael, the late John "Jack" and the late Patricia, dear uncle of many, including Adrienne (Barry Graham) Colvert, Jeff Hull, Lynne Krupa and Patrick Hogan, fond great-uncle, and friend of many.
Keith grew up in Oak Park, IL and attended Oak Park and River Forest High School (Class of 1947). He earned a BS in Engineering from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA, and an MS in Engineering from The University of Iowa in Iowa City. After completing his education, Keith served in the U.S. Army and was employed for many years with Commonwealth Edison (ComEd). He enjoyed playing golf and watching football.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, 12:00-1:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill Street, Naperville, IL 60540.
A celebration of Keith's life will follow Friday, 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
Entombment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
