Rita M. Colvert (nee Hogan), age 88, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1963, formerly of Moline and Oak Park, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at her home. She was born June 12, 1937, in Albert Lea, MN.
Beloved wife of the late P. Keith Colvert, whom she married June 21, 1958 and who preceded her in death on July 27, 2025, devoted daughter of the late Raymond and Opal Hogan, dear sister of Benita (Dave) Dollieslager of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Patrick (Leslie) Hogan of East Moline, IL, Michael Hogan of Oakland, CA, the late John "Jack" (the late Annette) Hogan and the late Patricia (the late Joseph) Drefchinski, sister-in-law of the late Joseph, Arlene, Mary and Johnny, dear aunt of many, including Adrienne (Barry Graham) Colvert, Jeff Hull, Lynne Krupa and Patrick Hogan, fond great-aunt, and friend of many.
Rita grew up in Moline, IL and was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy (ICA) in Davenport, IA. She attended The Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Chicago and was employed for many years with Myers, Beatty & Co., a commercial property and liability insurance agency in Chicago. Over the years, the company assumed other names, becoming Myers Baker, then Myers Briggs in the mid-1990s, and most recently Prescott Myers Insurance Agency in Naperville.
Rita was a former member of the Naperville Women's Club and enjoyed playing golf and sewing.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, 12:00-1:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill Street, Naperville, IL 60540.
A celebration of Rita's life will follow Friday, 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Deacon Larry Kearney officiating.
Entombment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
