Barbara Joan Cook, age 83, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Ronald Grant and Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
Mrs. Cook lived for most of her life in Cobb County. She graduated from McEachern High School in Powder Springs. She worked as a Librarian at Garrett Middle School, then worked as an Office Manager for American Home Craftsman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, and enjoyed reading and listening to music. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Cook.
Survivors include: Husband of 65 years, Harold Cook; Son, Terry (Joy) Cook, Cave Spring, GA; 2 Sisters, Ann (Ronald) Grant, Powder Springs, GA, and Sandra Wakefield, Cedartown, GA; Grandchildren, Rachael Cook, Kennesaw, GA, and Amanda Wakefield, Cedartown, GA; Nephew, Wesley Grant, Powder Springs, GA.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan Cook's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at www.act.alz.org.
