On Sunday, February 8, 2026 Barbara Ann Lewis Cookson was called home in peace at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Barbara was born December 8, 1951 to the late Xavier and Georgie Lewis.
She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Alan Cookson who will forever cherish her memory, who was her best friend of 22 years, married 17 of those 22 years. Five sisters Sandra Lewis, Linda Doucet, Cheryl Woods, Deborah Lewis all of Lake Charles, and Rachel Hayes (Kenneth) of Atlanta, GA. She also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Xavier and Georgie Lewis; one brother, Jessie Charles Lewis; one sister, Brenda Lewis Charles.
As per her request there will be no formal services. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa.
