Barbara Sue Cornell, age 80, passed away on September 7, 2025. She was born in Rig, West Virginia, on November 9, 1944.

She married Jimmie Allen Cornell Sr., in 1961 and they were married for 63 years. After marrying, she moved with Jim to Maryland and started her family. Her focus was on raising her family, and for many years she worked as a resident manager for apartment complexes.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Allen Cornell Sr.; Son Jimmie Allen Cornell Jr.; Daughter Barbara Denise Cornell; Grandchildren Rebekah Marshall Gletner, Christopher Allen Cornell, Nikolas George Gletner, Caroline Anne Cornell, and great grandson Jaxon Kade Gletner.

Her hobbies and interests included active participation in the College Park Moose, supporting the Red Cross blood drive, and church volunteering. Her primary interest was in her beloved grandchildren and great grandson.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 10:00am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church of Laurel, 424 Main St, Laurel, MD 20707.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Laurel.

After the service, all are invited to attend a repast serving lunch in the church fellowship hall.
