Barbara J. Cox

Barbara J. (Naples) Cox, age 87, of Poland, lifelong resident of Hubbard, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at home with her loving family by her side.

Barb was born June 30, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Rocco J. & Mary (Ferkula) Naples.

She was a 1957 graduate of East High School and was an active member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, serving as a eucharistic minister and was in the church choir.

She spent many years at Lake Erie, a place near and dear to her heart as she met the love of her life there at age 15. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, walking, but most of all she spent time with family.

Barb (Nana) will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family; her husband Gerald W Cox Sr. whom she married October 17,1959, her children Janine (Gary) Younkins of Madison, Ohio, Jackie Jones of Palm Harbor, Florida, Jerry Cox of Boardman, Ohio and Jill Cox of Boardman, Ohio, 8 grandchildren Candace (Jordan) Wilson, Joel (Kelly) Younkins, David Jones, Chase Hammond, Dayne Hammond, Francesca Cox, Rocco Jones and Dominique Cox and 6 great-grandchildren Harlow & Walker Wilson, Levi, Lia, Launa Younkins, and Ajahni Hammond.

She also leaves her sisters, Madeline Praznik of Sarasota, Florida, Fran D'Amico of Youngstown, Ohio, and Kathy (Rick) Galik of Austintown, Ohio. She leaves several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Vicki Lewis and brothers-in-law Frank Praznik and Joe D'Amico.

Barbara was laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following private services at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home
