Barbara Wetzel Davis passed away peacefully at her home in Phoenix, Arizona, on February 4, 2026. She was 91 years old.

Barbara was born on February 12, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Arthur Wetzel and Marguerite Husting Wetzel. She grew up in Milwaukee and later attended Briarcliff Manor College in New York.

Following graduation, Barbara began her career in New York City. In 1965, she married Jack Davis, and the couple moved to Chicago. Jack preceded her in death in 1968.

In 1973, Barbara relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where she would live for the remainder of her life. She worked at the Ask Mr. Foster travel agency from 1973 to 1983 before founding her own company, Marathon Adventures. Through this business, she arranged international travel for marathon runners competing in major cities around the world.

Barbara had a lifelong passion for travel, both personally and professionally. Her enthusiasm for exploring new places and cultures brought joy to many, and she created unforgettable experiences for her clients, friends, and family. She built a wide circle of lasting friendships through her vibrant social life and her work.

She shared a particularly special bond with Jennifer Gutierrez who served as her assistant for 15 years and became her cherished friend, remaining by her side through her final days.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Judith Wetzel Kern; her niece, Elizabeth Terry; and her nephew, Michael Wetzel Kern and their families.

Interment will be in a private ceremony at Valhalla Cemetery in Milwaukee.
