Barbara Dearing

Barbara (Locke) Dearing, 88, of Bridgewater, passed away on January 25, 2026. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Dearing.

Barbara was born in the Elmwood section of East Bridgewater. She went to East Bridgewater High, Class of 1955. After marriage, she and her husband moved to Bridgewater. It was here that she began a long and wonderful career at the Williams School in food service, remaining until retirement. Barbara also worked part time at The Joppa Grille, along with her husband and her three boys.

She loved her family very much and always enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews who would call her affectionately, Auntie Barbie. She is survived by two sons, Robert M. Dearing of Bridgewater, Ma. and Christopher Dearing of Columbia, MD. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob and her son Russell.

Barbara will be remembered by her beautiful smile and her always loving ways.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday, February 14th from 1-4 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 98 Bedford Street in Bridgewater. A private burial will be held at a later date.
