Cimarron – Barbara Ann Dewey, 83, died July 3, 2025 at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron. She was born on January 18, 1942 at Galena, Kansas the daughter of Floyd and Marjorie (Burnett) Rogers.
She married Lloyd Dewey in June of 1987 in Woodland Park, Colorado he preceded her in death on February 14, 2008. She worked for the Cimarron Insurance Company as a insurance clerk from 1967 to 1987. She later went to work for the Gray County Fair Board before retiring. Mrs. Dewey loved to cross stitch and make Christmas stockings for her family and friends. She was well known for her cross stitch winning best in show at the Kansas State Fair for her work. She loved to work on crossword puzzles and was an avid reader and was an excellent cook and very well known for her rum cakes.
She was a member of the Cimarron Methodist Church in Cimarron.
She is survived by her son Darren Rogers of Cimarron; one sister Sally Elmore and husband Steve of Ashland; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. stepchildren Tim and Pat Dewey of Cimarron; Lynn Wagner of Edmond, Oklahoma and Kim and Kent Kopper of Cimarron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Claude Rogers, Charles Rogers, two sisters Peggy Rich and Patricia Rich.
Funeral service will be held at Cimarron Methodist Church on Tuesday July 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Kevin Reed presiding. Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Cimarron on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Cimarron Methodist Church, Cimarron Library or Gray County Fair Board in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
