Barbara Ellen Lucile Heacock Dodson, 86, passed from this life on Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was born to David William Heacock and Mary Lucile Autrey in Mountainair, New Mexico, on December 26, 1939. In 1957, Barbara married Charles Carlton Dodson in Monahans, Texas. She is survived by her children Sherry (Gene) Christian of Brownwood, Texas; Kathy Ollom of Clovis, New Mexico; David Dodson of Dallas, Texas and Debra (Ronny) Van of Baytown, Texas. Barbara had grandchildren Aaron, Cade and Kyra Christian; K'Lee Ollom, Tamra (Jason) Harris; Brielle (Wes) Cauley and Briley Van as well as great-grandchildren Eden and Carter Owen and Greyson and Lincoln Harris. She is also survived by her brother, William FE Heacock, her half-brother, Jimmy Heacock, half-sister, Cindy Glenn, and numerous other relatives.Barbara began working in Clovis Schools as the lunch lady when Debra started school and worked in both Clovis and Portales for many years. She was an avid bowler and tennis player in her younger years. She was also a talented seamstress and quilter. Barbara was a member of Central Baptist Church. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Charles, her parents and her brother David William Heacock. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel. Services will begin at 2:30pm with Gene Christian officiating. Burial will be held privately on a later date at Lawn Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery.The family would like to thank the staff at PRMC for the wonderful care they provided during this time.
