Barbara Dye

Barbara Dye, 76, passed away on February 10, 2026, peacefully, surrounded by her family at Hartford House in Owensboro, Kentucky. She was born and raised in Henderson, Kentucky.

She worked at Methodist Hospital for 17 years, where she was known for her dedication. After retiring from the hospital, she loved having a job as a greeter for Walmart in Henderson.

One of Barbara's proudest achievements was completing a suicide awareness walk in honor of her daughter, Melanie, in Henderson in 2018, a reflection of her strength. She was a volunteer for St. Vincent De Paul, as well as for the American Red Cross in which she aided with cleanup efforts during Hurricane Sandy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Melanie Madden; parents, Paul and Mary Sigler; brothers, James A. (Jimmy) Sigler, Larry Sigler, Hugh (Hughie) Sigler, and Christopher Sigler.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Leslie Gibson (Brent Hodge), brothers, Paul L. Sigler (Henrietta), Neal Sigler (Trish), sister Martha Royster (Tony), sister-in-law Virginia Sigler (Larry), along with her grandchildren, Katherine A. Moss, Lorren Pate (Daniel), and Mason Gibson. Great grandchildren Parker Holder, Scarlett Holder, and Gideon Pate. She had many nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her resilience, strength, and independence in life.

Relatives and friends are invited to Barbara's Life Celebration from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. Private services will be held immediately after visitation as well as private inurnment at St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson. KY with Father Ray Clark officiating.
