Barbara May Edwards, a devoted homemaker and beloved wife, mother and family matriarch, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in Highland, Utah, at the age of 94. Born on October 18, 1931, in Los Angeles, California to Raymond and Lela Fox. She married Clifford Wayne Edwards on August 12, 1949 in Los Angeles, California. Barbara dedicated her life to her family and her faith, leaving a legacy of caring and love.
Barbara was deeply passionate about family history and indexing, often immersing herself in the stories of her ancestors. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she joyfully participated in many church activities, callings and temple work, finding purpose and fulfillment in serving others. Her commitment to her faith was a guiding force in her life.
One of Barbara's most cherished talents was her sewing, knitting and tie-quilting. She was an excellent quilter who lovingly created a unique quilt for many expectant mothers and nearly all members of her family, wrapping them in her warmth with each stitch and tie. Family gatherings were often filled with the delicious aromas of her cooking, as Barbara was a great cook who took great pride in preparing meals that brought everyone together around the table. As youngsters, her children would often ask “is that for us?” As Barbara was also tireless in her efforts to serve others with meals.
Barbara is survived by her beloved children: Shirley Ann Mann, Patricia Gail Stran, Wayne LeRoy Edwards, Kay Lyn Norman, Karen Lee Baugh, and Kenneth Dean Edwards, 21 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren, and her siblings: Raymond Fox, Lee Fox and Linda Fox Nelson. They will forever remember her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought into their lives. She is preceded in death by her husband Clifford Wayne Edwards, her parents, Raymond and Lela Fox and a grandson; Rodney Mann.
In celebration of Barbara's remarkable life, a memorial service will be held in her honor. Family and friends are invited to come together to share memories, laughter, and stories that highlight her rich and fulfilling journey. Barbara's legacy of love, service, and creativity will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her. As we remember and celebrate her life, let us carry forward her spirit of warmth and the importance of family.
