In loving memory of Barbara Ann Ely, a beacon of warmth and welcome to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Barbara passed away on June 12, 2024, in Kaufman, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished.
Born on February 14, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, Barbara had a heart as big as her hometown. Throughout her life, she cultivated a love for sewing and quilting, finding joy in creating beautiful pieces with her hands. Her devotion to her faith was unwavering, as she found solace in attending church services regularly. Additionally, Barbara enjoyed the simplicity of playing cards and solitaire, finding contentment in the quiet moments spent with loved ones.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Ricky Scott and Wayne Gregory, and sister Anita Poline. She is survived by her son Michael Franklin (spouse - Felicia), sister Linda Reites (spouse - Rickie), brother Danny Joe Scott (spouse - Penny), grandchildren Joseph Franklin and Amanda Franklin, and great-grandchildren Emory Franklin and Bentley Spears,
Those who were touched by Barbara's kindness are invited to pay their respects and share their memories at a visitation scheduled for Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Parker - Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman. A funeral service will immediately follow from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location with Rickie Reites officiating. Interment will follow in Creagleville Cemertery.
Barbara's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
