Robert Ernest Hawkins

Robert Ernest Hawkins, 86, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family and his devoted wife of 64 years, Nancy Jo Hawkins.

Born July 16, 1939, in Kaufman, Texas, to Ernest Hawkins and Christine Hawkins, he proudly served his country in the United States Army as an Armor Crewman. He achieved the rank of Sergeant (SGT E-5) and was assigned to Company D, 1st Medium Tank Battalion, 112th Armor Regiment, 49th Armored Division.

Robert built a lifelong career in the grocery industry, where he dedicated decades of hard work and reliability. A true Texas sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of Nolan Ryan, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys-rarely missing a game and always ready to share his passion with family and friends.

He was a loving father to his four children: Tina Reid, Tracy Hawkins, Terry Hawkins, and Todd Hawkins-all of whom survive him. He was a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Hawkins and Christine Hawkins, and his brother, Larry Jo Hawkins.

Memorial services will be held this Friday, January 23, at 1:00 PM at Lone Star Cowboy Church, 4495 W State Highway 22, Corsicana, Texas.
