Barbara Ettrich, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026.

She was born on July 17, 1939, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to William and Melba Annick. Barbara graduated from The Ohio State University College of Nursing in 1963 and devoted her career as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Department at OSU, where she cared for the most fragile patients with compassion and dedication.

On June 21, 1966, Barbara married Adolf Ettrich in Bavaria, Germany. Together, they settled in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where they raised their children and built a life grounded in love, faith, and devotion to family.

Barbara enjoyed cooking, reading, and-most of all-spending time with her family. Her kitchen was always a place of warmth, laughter, and love, and she showed her care for others through quiet acts of kindness. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, William and Melba Annick; her sisters, Shirley Wagonhall (Howard) and Charlotte Annick; and her brother, William Annick (Sharon).

She is survived by her beloved husband, Adolf Ettrich; her sister, Carol Hyppa (Roger); her daughter, Kimberly Bable (Jim); her son, Christopher Ettrich (Milissa); her grandchildren, Amber, Morgan, Zach, Derek, and Ellie; and her great-grandchildren, Caleena, Killian, and Avery.

Above all else, Barbara cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her spirit, unwavering love for her family, and a life devoted to caring for others.

Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a Memorial Service from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home, 7915 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068, with Pastor Chip Koch officiating.
