Barbara Kay Higgs Finch was born on July 14, 1957 in Greenfield, TN to the late Ben E. Higgs and Emma B. Winston Higgs. She was the last of 11 children. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1975. At an early age she confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Johnson Tabernacle CME Church in Greenfield, TN.
She later met and married the love of her life, Chester Finch Jr., on August 1, 1975. They were married for 30 years until his health failed on April 6, 2006. She was a homemaker who loved to meet new people and loved being around family and friends. She loved reading, music, the news, and reading bible verses.
She leaves to cherish her memories four children, Timmy (Regina) Higgs of Greenfield, TN, Dennis Finch-Hall (Kenneth) of Murphy, TX, Millicent Finch and Amber Finch all of Dyer, TN; a sister, Melvlon Ann Higgs Hill (Donald) of Greenfield, TN; a brother, Bennie Joe (Yvonne) Higgs; nine grandchildren, Shakema, Kanye, Kylan, Jalaya, Taurus Jr., Leland, Aryiana, Shadow and Dalton ; great grandbabies, Jae'Ana Walker and JaCori Hall; daughter-in-law, sisters-in-law, Alice Higgs of San Antonio, TX, Barbara Finch of Jackson, TN and Tanya Finch of Rutherford, TN; brother-in-law, Donnie Finch of Milan, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends including a special niece, Sherry Higgs Martin of Martin, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Finch, Jr.; mother, Emma B. Winston Higgs; father, Ben E. Higgs; and siblings, Frank Higgs, Thomas Lee, David Higgs, Bobby Higgs, James Jr. Higgs, Jestine McMullen, Billy Ray Higgs and Jessie Higgs
