Born in Florence, the daughter of the late John and Matilda Austin, Barbara was a graduate of Florence High School. She and her husband, Ken, moved to Lumberton in 1972 when he became a Lumberton Police Officer.
Barbara was a homemaker. She was dedicated to her daughter and husband. She enjoyed the Far Side Calendar, watching ION tv, drinking Tak-a-Boost, and pizza. She was a fan of Jiminy Cricket and supported the DAV.
The wife of the late Ken, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: April and John Sheehan of Lumberton; one of 7 children, she is also survived by her sister Bea Ashmoor.
Services will be held privately. Contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at help.dav.org
