Obituary of Barbara A Glebus
Barbara A. (Kelly) Glebus, 86, a longtime resident of Burlington and most recently of Woburn, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, September 2, 2024 at the Winchester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Barbara was born in Cambridge the only daughter of the late John and Amelia (Kondrotavich) Kelly. She was educated in the Cambridge school system and graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School. Soon after graduation, she met the love of her life William J. Glebus marriage and children quickly followed. For many years, Barbara was able to make a warm and loving home for her husband and family.
She was very proud of her Irish roots and referred to herself as a Kelly even after she was married. She loved the beaches of Marshfield and Cape Cod and escaping to them whenever given the opportunity to do so, whether it was on vacation or a simple day trip. Her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds and that love was a central pillar of Barbara's happiness. She was fiercely independent and lived with her daughter almost till she passed. Her ability to take care of her self and others around her was unsurpassed.
She was the loving wife of the late William J. Glebus who passed away in 2010, the mother of the late Patricia Glebus and the sister of the late Jimmy and John Kelly.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Wanda Griffiths of Woburn, son, William Glebus and his wife Debbie of Billerica, four grandchildren, Taylor Griffiths, Amber Griffiths, Patrick Glebus and Paige Glebus as well as several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
At her request all funeral services will be private and at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are by the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington Ma 01803. Condolences to her family may be made at www.sullivanfuneralhome.net
