Barbara Jeanne Glunz of Willmar was welcomed into the loving embrace of Jesus and reunited with beloved family members, including her parents and son, on January 23, 2024. Her 88 years was a testament to her deep faith as she faced numerous hardships with strength and always celebrated life’s joys. In her loss her many loved ones are comforted both by knowing she has received her heavenly reward and by the many memories of her feisty, straight-talking approach to life. We know we will remain on her heavenly prayer board for eternity.
Barbara was born October 8, 1935, in Illinois to Rev. Francis “Dusty” and Nell Rhoades and grew up in Pennsylvania. She later spent time in Rhode Island, California and Arizona, before settling in Minnesota three decades ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Mark Zinger and her sister Joanne Glass. She is survived by her loving family including husband Richard Glunz, brother Jon Rhoades, daughter Alison (Gary) Thiel, daughter-in-law Lori (Eddie) Zinger Bryson, along with chosen daughter Lani (Tom Harm) Jordan.
In addition, Barbara is mourned by grandchildren Michael and Dustin (Susie) Zinger, Dusty and David (Vieng) Gilbertson, Shireana Dusharm, Kaila Beth Gray, Daniel Vanderpoel, and chosen granddaughters Annie (Louis Sigtermans) Harm, Marit (Nial) Harm Spransy and Elin (Chris Bruno) Harm.
