Carol Glunz Obituary
Carol passed away Monday August 4th surrounded by family at Citadel of Kankakee after a long battle with dementia. She was born in Fennville Michigan to Merle and Merle Flanner and had one older brother Robert and two younger brothers Charles and Kenneth. Carol eventually moved to Crestwood, IL and married the love of her life Gerald Glunz.
She worked 30 years as a CNA in a nursing home taking great pride in caring for her residents as though they were family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Robert Flanner, son-in-law Azam (Sam) Bakr, and granddaughter-in-law Jennifer (Gerald [Abe] Glunz).
Carol is survived by her daughter Sheri Bakr (Glunz); grandchildren Gerald (Abe) Glunz, Julie Wojnicki (Bakr), and Jessica Janz (Bakr) and husband Walter; great grandchildren Martin Bakr, Gerry Glunz, and Olivia Wojnicki, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A private interment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mount Greenwood, IL Friday August 8th.
