Barbara Graves Obituary

She was born on July 5, 1936 in West Frankfort to Fred and Mildred (Southerland) Harkins. Barbara was a member of the Trinity Global Methodist Church in West Frankfort and served as the city of West Frankfort for many years as the City Clerk. She enjoyed playing poker, watching Hallmark movies and shows on HGTV. She also loved her pet dogs and cats dearly.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Lynda Harkins and Kaye McClintock; sister-in-law Mildred Harkins; and her companion Loren Bacon.
She is survived by her son Jeff Graves; brother Jerry Harkins; sisters Faye Grzanich and Gayla Long; along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday December 1, 2025 in the Union Funeral Home-West Frankfort at 12:00pm with her brother Jerry Harkins officiating. Interment will be in the Denning Cemetery on the Orient Road. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
