Barbara Ann Hodges-Hagy, 85, of Milton passed away on July 21, 2024. She was born in Asheville, NC on June 4, 1939 to Doc and Bertha Mason. Later she and her family moved to Morristown, IN where she met and later married Harold Hodges.
In 1972, Harold and Barbara moved their family of four children to Milton, FL. This was under the direction of the United States Navy, in which Harold was serving at the time.
Barbara was an extremely dedicated worker, holding both public employment and raising three boys and one girl. She was known to be a wonderful quilt maker and instructor. She also enjoyed sewing, making clothes, and crocheting.
Cooking was also a hobby of hers that was in demand with having four children. Her mountain influenced biscuits became a hot item, selling out in short order in the Mess Hall of NAS Whiting Field.
Barbara was preceded in death by Randy Hagy; son, Timothy; and parents, Doc and Bertha Mason.
Survivors include her sons, Mark (Judy) Hodges and Tony Hodges; daughter, Lauina (Danny) Cook; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Hayes; and a very good friend, F.D. Martin.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 also at the funeral home.

My mother to me was the strongest person male or female I have ever, ever known. Her strength exceeded the multiple surgeries, in excess of 10, raising of four children, and holding down job positions in public to name a few.
Mom I love you immensely and without end. Even in your more painful days when I came over to stay, you insisted on cooking meals for me and I only wished you to relax and stay.

Now I spend days thinking of you the memories I have always come into view...then my tears carry them away
