Barbara Hatke, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 10th, 2023, at the Newton Medical Center at the age of 80.
Born in Hoboken to the late Walter and Dorothy (Haase) Kleinke, Barbara grew up in Union City and lived in Bogota and Sparta before settling in Vernon ten years ago.
Barbara was dedicated to her community with her tireless efforts in serving others. She was always counted on for assistance and new ideas. Her energy was unwavering, and she was extremely dedicated to the Hardyston Township Seniors, where she served as the Treasurer for over 15 years. She also volunteered with the Vernon Seniors, the 4-H Club and the Girl Scouts. Barbara was an extremely passionate mother and grandmother who always proudly attended all her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and school functions whenever possible. She loved cooking, baking, crocheting, sewing, and knitting as well as anything else to keep her busy.
Predeceased by her parents, and her loving husband of 61 years, Raymond Hatke, Barbara is survived by her children Gail Feeley and her husband Rick, Carl Hatke and wife Jess, Richard Hatke, and Dorel Jones and her husband Chris; grandchildren Diana and James Feeley, Jacob and Marcus Jones, and Kyler, Cassy, and Kenzie Hatke; as well as great-grandchildren Dolly Mackie and Robbie Derieux; a sister, Joanne Mangarelli, her goddaughter Michele Cinnante, and many nieces and nephews. While not technically part of their family, Barbara was considered a second mother to so many others.
