Barbara Joan Hembree was born in Coffeyville, Kansas on March 26, 1940 to Ross Bilby and Shirley Fitzsimmons Bilby Dose. She passed away peacefully in the arms of her granddaughter Sky and with her nieces Carri and Andrea at her bedside on January 10, 2026.

Growing up, Barbara spent her time between Kiefer/Sapulpa and Redding, California. She attended Kiefer and Sapulpa schools and graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1958.

Throughout her life, Barbara traveled throughout the United States and the world. She spent several years living in Europe including Greece and France. Most of her life was spent in either Duvall, Washington or Kiefer/ Sapulpa.

She was a devoted Christian and loving friend, fostering lifelong friendships. She was a "helper" and always loved to help people however she could. From driving her friends everywhere, dog sitting for her nieces, and taking care of people when they had a need. She was also an avid communicator with frequent cards, letters and phone calls to family and friends.

She is predeceased by her Mother Shirley Fitzsimmons Bilby Dose, Grandparents Guy and Estelle (her Granny who helped raise her) Fitzsimmons, Uncle and Aunt Orville and Jo Cook, sister Sue Belloni, her best friend and sister Pat Adams, niece Brenda Adams and nephew Vince Belloni.

She was a proud mom and is survived by her two sons, Gary Don (Octavio) Hembree and Chris (Darcy) Hembree. Granny to her three grandchildren – Sky (Spencer) Dean, Andrew (Annie) Hembree, and Nick (Anqi) Hembree. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Bilby and brother-in-law Bill Adams. As well as nieces Carri (David) Adams Ralston, Andrea Adams, Paulette Bilby, Shirley Belloni and Annie Belloni; nephew Monty Bilby. Cousins Val Cook, Rita Pritchard, and Lense and Ruthie Ramey. Many cousins, great nieces and great nephews. Special friends of over 60 years, Norma and Al Hall and Betty Slaton.

A special THANK YOU to the staff of the Garden's for taking care of her for the past year and especially helping her enjoy her Pepsi habit.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, Jauary 15, 2026 at First Christian Church in Kiefer.

Arrangements are in the care of Green Hill Funeral Home.
