STERLING - Barbara A. Hemenway-Roberti, 79 of Sterling, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. She is the loving wife of Ronald Roberti with whom she has shared over 35 years of marriage.
Born in Worcester, the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Burns. She worked for many years at St. Vincent Hospital as a surgical nurse, and then eventually moved to UMass Medical Center prior to retirement.

She was actively involved in many committees throughout the Town of Sterling, most notably the Conservation Committee, the Lake Association, and the Sterling Fair. She loved to travel and visit Foxwoods Casino with her best friend, Carolyn. Her loving, warm heart will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and members of her community.
Along with her husband Ronald, Barbara leaves behind her children, Lloyd Hemenway and his wife Stefani of Arizona, Lance Hemenway and his wife Kristen of Sterling, and Veronica Smith of Pennsylvania; her sister Maureen Bouvier of Shrewsbury; a niece Michelle Gamache; nephew Robert Bouvier; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She is predeceased by her siblings, William Burns and Nancy Davis.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 12th from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road in Sterling. A funeral service will be celebrated the following day, Thursday, November 13th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston.
