Barbara A. Higgins

Barbara A. Higgins, age 89, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Barbara spent her early years in West Philadelphia before moving to Wallingford, where she resided for 33 years. For the past 17 years, she called the Fox Field community in Garnet Valley her home.
A devoted homemaker, Barbara was an active member of the Church of the Holy Child. She was a proud graduate of West Catholic High School, Class of 1953. Barbara found joy in gardening and reading, but her greatest happiness came from the time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Helen Flynn Timmons, her grandson Robbie Higgins, and her brother Edward Timmons. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Frank J. Higgins, her four children: Frank (Jackie) Higgins, Carolyn Croney, Robert (Sue) Higgins, and Christopher (Yolanda) Higgins; her two sisters: Joan Jensen and Helen "Hedy" (Bill) Roach; her seven cherished grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Road, Wilmington, DE, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
