Mrs. Barbara Shockley Hightower

With heartfelt sympathy, we share the news of Barbara Hightower's passing on November 13, 2025, at her home in Seneca, SC. Barbara was married to Olen Hightower for 60 years until his passing in 2017. Born on December 25, 1936, in Morristown, Tennessee, she was a loving mother to Denise Hightower, as well as Cynthia Hightower and Dale Hightower, both deceased. Barbara was the eldest sibling of Harold Shockley, Gary Shockley, and Larry Shockley. She leaves behind six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Throughout her adult years, Barbara fulfilled the responsibilities of a Navy wife, relocating
frequently throughout the United States and establishing enduring friendships along the way.
Barbara lived a simple life as a committed Christian, participating in church activities, including
international mission trips dedicated to humanitarian efforts. In her later years, she remained
engaged with friends and family through Facebook, regularly read her Bible, and completed
crossword puzzles as a pastime. Barbara will be fondly remembered and missed by those who
knew her.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Heritage Memorial Gardens.
