Barbara Jean Hinckley, 63, of Columbia, Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly at her home on February 18, 2026. She was born on July 27, 1962, in Stafford, Connecticut, to the late Shirley (Russell) Webb.
Barbara was employed at Windham Hospital for over 25 years as a dedicated worker in the food and nutrition department. She was known for her strong work ethic and commitment throughout her many years of service. Outside of work, Barbara found great happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her four cats and found joy in hummingbirds and the gentle sound of wind chimes while relaxing on her porch.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley (Russell) Webb, and her loving husband, Richard Todd Hinckley.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Melissa Hinckley, and son-in-law, Raymond Gehre; her grandson, Carter, who was her absolute joy; her son, Christopher Hinckley, and daughter-in-law, Savannah Kellogg; her brother, Richard Webb, and sister-in-law, Leila (Sohn) Webb; her brother, Wilford “Sonny” Webb; along with many nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
