Barbara Jean Horton, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on February 7, 1950, in Rock Island, Illinois. As the youngest of five siblings, Barb, as we all knew her, grew up in a household where she learned the value of family and friendship. In 1993 she married the love of her life, C. Steve Horton, Sr. Together, they raised four children. Barb was a devoted mother and grandmother, proud of her grandchildren, Christepher and Brittney Williams, Trey and Carson Horton, Bella Horton and Connor and Piper Kuhn. Barb loved shopping, shoes, visiting the casino, playing bingo, and traveling to new places. Barb is survived by her loving husband, C. Steve Horton, Sr., her children Ted Williams (Beth), Stephen Horton (Coco), Melissa Williams, and Adam Horton (Haley) and her adored grandchildren Christepher, Brittney, Trey, Carson, Bella, Connor and Piper. She was preceded in death by her parents - Kenneth and Agnes Nolan, and her siblings Dorothy Mairanda, Martha Smith, Richard Nolan and Kenneth Nolan.
A celebration of Barb’s life will be held in the coming months where family and friends will be invited to share their memories and pay their respects. Barb will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
