Barbara June Humble, known fondly as Barbara to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, at the age of 91, in Mannford, Oklahoma. Born on June 16, 1934, in Hanna, Missouri, Barbara's life was a testament to her generous spirit, creative soul, and unwavering faith.
Barbara's early years were spent in the close-knit community of Oilton, where she completed her education, graduating from Oilton High School in 1952. She carried the values of hard work and dedication throughout her life, which was reflected in her varied work history. Barbara's professional journey included roles as a secretary for several businesses such as Tulsa Shade, Endisco Supply, and Frougs Department Store. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when she owned and operated an Arts and Crafts Store in Amarillo, Texas, a venture that brought her immense joy and satisfaction before she returned to her roots in Oilton.
A devout Christian, Barbara's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Her life was a living example of the Biblical teachings she held dear, and she was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her. Her creative talents were unparalleled, especially in crocheting dolls, a passion that led her to enter contests and win numerous prizes. Barbara was also a gifted painter, finding solace and joy in the strokes of her brush.
Barbara's greatest pride and joy were her family members, who she leaves behind to cherish her memory. She is survived by her loving son, John Humble, and his wife, Teressa; her adored grandchildren, Ryan Humble and his wife, Tara, Kyle Humble and his wife, Lacey, Brice Humble, and Randy Ooton; her caring siblings, Scott Brandon, Ray Brandon and his wife, Denise. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Seth Humble and his wife, Makayle, Asa Humble and his wife, Madelyn, Caleb Humble, Kiley Humble, Faith Humble, Elizabeth Humble, Joseph Ooton, Jack Jones, Hayden Moore, Parker Moore, Cambel Moore; and her cherished great-great-grandchildren, Joan Humble and Clyde Humble. She is also survived by a special friend and caregiver, Michaele Mills.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Mart and Ina Brandon; her beloved husband, Clyde Humble; her son, Brian Humble; and her brothers, Kenneth Brandon, Jerry Brandon, and Harlan Brandon.
A woman of generosity, creativity, and faith, Barbara's absence will be deeply felt by her family and friends. Her spirit, however, will continue to live on through the many lives she touched and the beautiful artworks she created. Barbara June Humble's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, kindness, and grace, and her memory will be treasured forever.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Oilton from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Hope Free Will Baptist Church, 108 N. A Ave. Oilton, OK 74052, with Pastor Nathan Painter officiating. Immediately following the service, burial will take place at Brooks Cemetery.
