Sherri Strader Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Marler Funeral Home - Cushing on Mar. 9, 2026.
Sherri Lynn Strader

Sherri Lynn Strader, 51, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away at home on March 5, 2026. She was born January 31, 1975, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to Jack and Ann Clawson.

Sherri grew up in Oilton, Oklahoma, where she attended Oilton Public Schools and graduated from Oilton High School in 1993. During her school years, she was active in sports and activities. She played softball from elementary school through high school and also participated in basketball and cheerleading during her elementary and junior high years. Those who knew Sherri remember her outgoing personality, her laughter, and the way she could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. She had a gift for connecting with people and carried many friendships with her throughout her life.

More than anything, Sherri loved being a mother. She married Zane II, and together they shared 23 years of marriage and built a life centered around their family. During those years they welcomed two children, Zane III and Mackenzie, who quickly became the center of her world. Sherri devoted herself to raising them and making sure they always knew how deeply they were loved. She spent many years as a stay-at-home mom, pouring her heart into her family. In more recent years, she also devoted herself to helping care for her boyfriend Jason's mother, showing the same compassion and loyalty she always gave to the people she loved.

Music was always a part of Sherri's life, and it was rare to walk into a room without something playing in the background. She especially loved 80's and 90's rock, and many of her memories were tied to the songs and artists from those years. She was also a proud fan of Oklahoma State Cowboy football and loved cheering them on whenever she could. One of her favorite pastimes was giving her little sister, Jacklyn, a hard time for being an Oklahoma Sooners fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ann Clawson of Oilton, Oklahoma, and her brother-in-law, Pete Goad of Cushing, Oklahoma.

Sherri leaves behind the two people she loved most in this world, her children, Zane Strader III of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Mackenzie Strader of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

She is also survived by her siblings: Trissa Stoneking and husband Dennis of Texas; Tammy Rosiere of Texas; Shelly Goad of Drumright, Oklahoma; and Jacklyn Ritter and husband Craig of Fairview, Oklahoma.

She also leaves behind nephews Tyler, Jacob, and Dustin; nieces Christy, Makayla, Kylie, and Sydnee; great-nieces Brooke, McKinley, and Jovi; and great-nephew Jaxyn, along with many other family members and friends who loved her.

Sherri will be remembered for her laughter, her sense of humor, her love of music, and the warmth she brought to the lives of those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she left behind will remain with us forever.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Oilton First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Underwood Cemetery.
